Mouton Cadet Bordeaux 2007

I enjoyed this wine. A Bordeaux blend, it consists of 50% Semillion, 40% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% muscadelle grapes. The wine has a nice citrus aroma with a tropical fruit finish. This wine is vibrant and explodes on the pallet. Nice all around wine that I will definitely get again. I purchased this wine for $10.00-$12.00 at the local Kroger store.

Red Augey Bordeaux 2006

This wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. I was wanting to try this Bordeaux, but was hesitant because I am not a big fan of Cab Francs. The wine is a full bodied wine with a ton of ripe red fruit. It even says so on the bottle. The ripe fruit added a tartness to it. This wine would be great with a nice hearty meal. I bought this bottle at the Taj Ma Teeter down the road. It was about $10.00. I got the White Augey as well. Can't wait to try it.

2007 domaine Pignard Beaujolais

I liked this wine. Everything I found on the wine says it is a Gamay varietal and since it is a Beaujolais wine, I am guessing it must be a Gamay. It does taste everything like Gamay. Though it was thin, it still had some complexity to it. A little dry with tanins and some acidity, just a nice wine to start the evening. Nice smooth finish with some light berries to end. I get a little strawberry finish to it. Although I do like deep jams in my wine I do enjoy it very much and I will buy it again. ***1/2 stars out of five.

I bought this at Total Wine for$11.99. Great price for a good wine

Petals 2007

This wine is a German Riesling that I got at Total Wine for $7.00. If you like sweet Rieslings this wine is for you. It has a crisp finish to it with tons of fruits. The one thing I did not like was that the wine was too sweet. A lot of sugar residuals with this wine. I am not a big white drinker and just thought it tasted more like a desert wine. Though I am not a big Riesling fan, some people that like sweeter tasting wines might like this wine. Plus it is very affordable. $7.00 a bottle you can't go wrong, but it is only 10% alcohol. Enjoy! **

The Stump Jump

The Stump Jump 2007. A wine that I am familiar with, we have had it at Porter's. Though the vintage is different from what I have had, I still like it. It is an australian wine that is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mouvedre grapes. Nice light wine that is a little dry and has a little spice to go along with it. 14% alc. so look out. I like it. The Stump Jump was always a customer favorite at the restaurant.

2006 Cotes du Rhone

This wine is a French wine. It was a little thiner than I expected, but had some nice jams to it. It went well with the roast beef and mashed potatoes we made. I purchased it at Whole Foods for $14.00. It was on sale!
